In my search for Bill DeWeese/ Bill Chadwick documents, a reader sent me a copy of Chadwick's pitch letter to the House Democratic Caucus. Something doesn't quite add up.
There are three parts of this letter (all on page 3) that are particularly interesting.
Notice that House Democratic Caucus (not Bill DeWeese) is mentioned as the entity that is in agreement with Chadwick Associates.
Once again, right in the first line, it clearly states the agreement is between the House Democratic Caucus and Chadwick Associates.
a. This agreement is not designed or intended to create third-part liability in favor of any person, corporation or entity; and
So, since the House Democratic Caucus is going after DeWeese; doesn't that make DeWeese a third party? How very interesting.
At Friday's hearing, DeWeese's argument for not handing over the super-secret "Chadwick" file is that the House Democratic Caucus was a different entity when they came to an agreement with Chadwick Associates.
Let's face it, DeWeese's argument doesn't hold any water. Not once in this document is there mention of a 2007 House Democratic Caucus. The last time I check, the House Democratic Caucus isn't a fraternity, which means it doesn't have a yearly class system. The House Democratic Caucus will always be the House Democratic Caucus.
Using DeWeese's logic, every year the government would hit the proverbial reset button. So, every law that was put into place last year would be voided. All debts and surpluses would go back to zero. Basically, they would make it seem like last year never happened. Every year would be it's own entity and a start from scratch. This isn't how things work.
