With so much happening over the last few months I thought it would be an appropriate time for a round-up.
Richard Gokey
- In Amity Horror, Gokey had a secretary campaigning on state time. In other words using taxpayer money for campaign purposes. Basically, the entire reason why we have Bonusgate.
- Is running a campaign for the 157th seat, but neglecting to inform voters that he led the PA Bush/Cheney campaign.
- Perzel went out of his way to redistrict the 172nd in order to secure his house seat.
- The Geo Group pulls out of Delco. Perzel is on the Board of Directors.
- The Geo Group has prisons all over the US, including an establishment in Guantanamo Bay. Gitmo has been under scrutiny for their lack of ethics.
- Perzel is linked to purchasing the GOP computer system, which was bought with taxpayer money. The system is now being investigated by a grand jury.
- Fluff cases or ways to get a daily mention in the papers: Phone scam, insurance fraud, embezzlement, product recall, consumer deception, sexual predators and drugs. How can a man involved in so many cases be able to run the most important case in PA effectively?
- But, favorite case has to be the one about fake diplomas. Why does the PA Attorney General bother commenting on such a trivial issue? Are you telling me he couldn't appoint someone to this case?
- Grandstanding: Corbett stops off for a milkshake and decides to become a MC.
- Corbett's twisted logic, He says there will be no comments on Bonusgate and then comments on Bonusgate. Corbett unsuccessfully explains why an independent prosecutor wouldn't work for Bonusgate. The AG says he doesn't want to affect the elections, but keeps the Oct. 7 trial for the 12 indicted Democrats.
- Corbett explains the importance of bumper sticker campaigning.
- The Corbett campaign targets Morganelli in Parking Metergate.

These three are all linked together. Gokey benefited from a campaign flier that Perzel sent out on his behalf in order to beat Gokey's much more conservative primary opponent who wouldn't vote for Perzel for Speaker....and Corbett doesn't investigate it. Just like Corbett hasn't investigated similar campaign hijinks by Perzel this past Republican primary in the 88th and 124th.

May 30--A campaign flier making accusations against an unsuccessful candidate for the state Legislature is offensive and should be investigated, the Berks County Elections Board concluded Thursday.
The flier distributed shortly before the April 22 primary election encouraged voters to support Amity Township Supervisor Richard L. Gokey as the Republican candidate in the 130th Legislative District. It did not list a source.
It said one of his opponents, Birdsboro Councilman Aaron J. Durso, doesn't work, doesn't pay property taxes and was involved in a serious crime in 2004.
Durso said the only accusation in the flier that is true is that he doesn't pay property taxes.
That's because he is a disabled veteran and is exempt from paying the taxes under state law, he said.
The elections board -- made up of county Commissioners Christian Y. Leinbach, Mark C. Scott and Kevin S. Barnhardt -- directed its solicitor, Christine M. Sadler, to send a copy of the flier and any other information to the Pennsylvania State Department for review and possible referral to the attorney general.
Gokey told the elections board that he had nothing to do with the flier, did not know who prepared it and was appalled by its content.
"It's such a hateful piece of literature," he said. "In my estimation it did harm to myself. If I got it, I wouldn't vote for me."
Contacted after the meeting, Durso said he and Gokey are friends and that he believes Gokey had nothing to do with the fl ier.
"It's just a bunch of lies and idiocy," Durso said. "It was a close race. He out-campaigned me. He beat me. I'm now going to help him in his election.
"There's no hard feelings."
State Department spokeswoman Rebecca Halton said the department would review the fl ier to see whether it is properly attributed to the source.
If not, that would be a violation of state election law and the matter would be referred to the attorney general's offi ce for investigation, she said.
Penalties for violations vary, Halton said.
Leinbach said he learned of the flier a few weeks ago and thought an investigation was warranted because the accusations in it are serious and the language is infl ammatory.
"This kind of activity should not be allowed to happen," he said.
The fl ier alleges that Durso, pas tor of Love Christian Fellowship Church in Birdsboro, has time to volunteer at his children's school and coach youth sports because he doesn't work.
The flier also accuses Durso of being involved in a 2004 murder that he claimed was selfde fense.
Durso said he has not been involved in a murder or any other crime.
"I have no idea what that's about," he said.
District Attorney John T. Adams confi rmed that Durso has no criminal record and that there were no murders or questionable deaths in the Birdsboro area in 2004.
Gokey won the nomination in the 130th Legislative District, beating Durso and another Republican candidate, Billy Reed of Rockland Township, in the primary.
He will face state Rep. David R. Kessler, an Oley Township Dem ocrat, in the Nov. 4 election.

What's the difference between Rhythm & Blues and Rock & Roll?
They sort of sound the same. Any difference.
I'm not talking about the crappy modern RnB with stupid beats here, I'm talking about classic RnB. Also, I'm talking about rock & roll, not rock.

How long does it take to tour the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame & other places in Cleveland worth checking out?
Just wondering approximately how long it would take to tour the museum. I've been to Cleveland several times for Indians and Cavs games but never to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and I wasn't sure how big of a place it was.

I myself, unfortunately, am not big into poetry but my sister very much is. She likes inspirational, deep meaning type poetry and/or quotes. Does anybody recommend any good authors or complete books of poetry that would be good as a christmas present? Please be specific. I write ALOT of poetry and I am told it is very inspiring. I am also told on many occasions that I should submit it to contest to get my poetry published. I feel as if I should not just plublish one if I do decide I want to publish, so how would I go about getting my poetry p ublished and copyrighted?
